This article will explain the steps required to remove a device from Moki and reregister it once again (alternatively you can also utilize the Reprovision Device Command). This process can also be followed for a BrightSign device that has already been registered to the BSN.Cloud and now you would like to register it to Moki.

Step 1

Devices registered to Moki – While logged in to Moki, select the “Devices” tab in Moki and then select the device that you want to remove. With the device selected, click the trashcan icon towards the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Lastly, confirm your selection.

Devices registered to the BSN.Cloud – While logged in to your BSN.Cloud account, select the “Network” tab and then select the device that you want to remove. With the device selected, click the trashcan icon towards the end of the row. Lastly, confirm your selection.

Step 2

Unplug the power supply and the ethernet cable of your BrightSign player. Then, remove the SD Card.

Step 3

Plug the SD Card into your computer and reformat it. Your SD, SDHC, or SDXC card must be formatted using FAT32 or ExFAT if you are using it for network updates or saving logs on it. However, if you need to play media files that are 4GB or larger in size, the card must be formatted using NTFS. Apple’s APFS or MAC OS Extended formats are not compatible with BrightSign players.

Step 4

Add or readd your device to Moki. This is done by creating a “Setup” profile and then by selecting the “+” icon from the “Devices” tab. When prompted, you will need to provide the serial number of the device as well as other points of data like the location and name of the device. You will also need to select the Setup profile that you created previously.

Step 5

Factory reset the BrightSign player by holding both the “SVC” and “Reset” buttons on the back of the player. While holding down the buttons, plug in the power cable. Once the red light begins flashing, you can release the buttons.

Step 6

Plugin the newly formatted SD Card.

Step 7

Plugin the ethernet cable.

Double-check that the device registered to both Moki and the BSN.Cloud. The device should register to both locations.
